Hello Jim.
I’m afraid Jim Garnett died very recently. We would be delighted nevertheless for one of the current clergy to conduct a blessing and renewal of marriage vows service for you. Please drop in to our regular bookings hour every. This is held every Tuesday evening between 6.30-7.30pm in Centre 63 (except Holy Week 3rd April). Best wishes, Tim Stratford.
Hi,
I would like to have my son christened in St Martins Church, could you advise how I can go about making arrangements?
Kind Regards
Sarah
Hi Tim
By chance I recently stumbled across St Chad’s remarkable churchyard flora whilst surveying nearby sites for wild flowers. I work for Lancashire Wildlife Trust, delivering a grassland restoration project called Forever Meadows and would like to
i, meet you at St Chad’s at a mutually convenient time.
ii, Obtain your permission to survey the flora of the churchyard before it is next mown.
iii, Offer our help to maintain the beauty and diversity of the wildflower habitats your churchyard supports.
Kind Regards, Ian Wright
Thanks Ian. I am glad you appreciate it. We mostly get complaints that it looks overgrown. The remarkable nature of the wild-flowers is not easily recognized. I will email you directly to fix up a date.
Do you have records of early gravestone inscriptions. I am looking for graves from 1727 and earlier. Thank you
Hi Susan
The best record of the graveyard is kept at

I hope you can find what you’re looking for there.
