Wedding Arrangements

A wedding is one of life’s great moments, a time of solemn commitment as well as good wishes, feasting and joy. We believe that marriage is intended by God to be a creative relationship, as his blessing enables husband and wife to love and support each other in good times and in bad, and to share in the care and upbringing of children. For Christians, marriage is also an invitation to share life together in the spirit of Jesus Christ. It is based upon a solemn, public and life-long covenant between a man and a woman, declared and celebrated in the presence of God and before witnesses.

On their wedding day the bride and bridegroom face each other, make their promises and receive God’s blessing. The support and encouragement that can be shown by friends and family at a wedding service are important but shouldn’t end there. It should be treasured in the years to come.

Love is patient; love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (1 Corinthians 13)

Booking Weddings in Kirkby

Weddings can take place in all of our churches. It is up to couples as they make their plans to decide which would suit them best.

To book a wedding, you can either get in touch via the website, or come along to our weekly bookings session, which takes place in St Andrew’s Church, Highfield, Tower Hill, on Tuesday evenings between 6.15pm and 7.15pm when a member of the clergy is usually present.

Planning a Wedding?

We have provided some resources here that we hope you will find helpful for planning the service in one of our churches.  A link to the current fee list is also in the list below.

Choir

We can provide a choir that can both help with congregational singing and offer some perfomance items during the signing of the register. They are generally only available on Saturdays. Please ask for more details.

Printing Service

We can provide printed orders of service simply and relatively inexpensively. Click on the Service Sheet Planner button in the information tab above.

A standard service card is always available in church at no cost.

Hi Lyndsey. Yes this is quite possible at St Chad’s. Hopefully our phone conversation has answered all your questions. The bookings hour is every Tuesday, 6.30-7.30pm in Centre 63. You can just drop in – no need to ring beforehand.

Hi Sarah. We won’t know the exact costs for a church wedding next year for a couple of months yet – I’m afraid that they’re set nationally, and we have to wait for Parliament to approve the fees. But we’re expecting that it will be in the region of £450 – £500. When you’re ready to book, come along to Centre 63 on a Tuesday, 6.30-7.30pm.

    Hi Kirsty

We don’t ask for a deposit until the January of the year that you’re getting married, and then we ask for £100, with the balance paid six weeks before if you want to pay by cheque, and any time before the wedding if you’d prefer to pay by cash.

    Hi Joe

Yes, you can get married in church. If you come into St. Andrew’s Church in Tower Hill on any Tuesday evening between 6.30 and 7.30pm, we’ll explain how the process works, and you can book a provisional date.
