Worship candlesEncountering God

It has been said that worship is the shop window of the church.

It has also been said that if anything is likely to distance people from the church it is turning up there on a Sunday morning.

It is true that worship is rarely ever perfect, but worship is what the church is primarily about. Above all, it is the spirit of the community that gathers for worship that counts, rather than how good a performance it is.

It is out of the worship and prayers of the church that its members draw their sense of commitment to making their world a better place to live in.

There is a service of worship at St Chad’s on:

Sunday morning at 11.00am (Holy Communion)
Tuesday at 9.30am (Holy Communion)
Tuesday at 3.45pm (After School Church)

We have a regular Sunday evening 6.30pm worship programme:

1st Sunday: Taizé Worship at St Martin’s
2nd Sunday Café Church at St Mark’s
3rd Sunday Reflections at St Andrew’s
4th Sunday 1662 Evensong at St Chad’s
5th Sunday Healing Service on rotation

All are welcome.

Occasionally the congregation meets with the other churches in the town and on such occasions notice is given that no service will take place here. Details are posted in the Online Calendar.

Every effort is made to cater for people of all ages. Children are always welcome, even before they have learnt the difference between a quiet time and a noisy one.
